BEST photo/video team EVER!!

We hired Lumina to do both photo and video coverage of our wedding. I don’t have enough words to explain what an amazing job Krista and her team at Lumina did. Not just for our wedding, but for the entire two years leading up to it. It all started with Krista getting back to me immediately via both text and email when I submitted my inquiry. If you’re familiar with planning your own wedding, you know that often vendors take days to respond and sometimes they don’t respond at all. Not in this case. From the very beginning Krista would always respond to me so quickly which made my planning process so much smoother, and she was able to work with me on my budget so that I didn’t have to go over budget to work with them. Lumina quickly became my favorite vendor that we hired for our wedding day. We got engaged in 2020 during peak covid, and planned our wedding for 2022. For two years I would randomly reach out to Krista with my questions, worries, plans, and she was always amazing at putting my mind at ease and offering great suggestions. My entire wedding process wouldn’t have been the same without her!

We first worked with Krista and Celine for our engagement session, which quickly started feeling like a fun hangout with new friends. The photos we received afterwards were so beautiful I was in shock. I don’t always love how I look in photos, but I loved every single photo we got back from them.

On the day of the wedding we worked with Krista, Celine, another Krista, Kas, and Jon. Each of them were absolutely amazing to work with and so friendly! My husband and I are pretty uncomfortable being filmed/photographed, but this team made us feel much more at ease and comfortable with it. Throughout the day we felt like they all became our friends. I know we will always look back on our wedding day and remember these 5 wonderful people we worked with. Our wedding was just days ago so I obviously don’t have the photo and video back yet, but I know with everything in me that both will be beyond my expectations. To Krista and her team, thank you SO much for being one of the best parts of our two year engagement and wedding day. We are so grateful for everything and working with you all was such a great experience. Thank you Krista & Jared of Lumina Weddings for your professionalism, but especially the heart and love you put into our wedding videography! With their extensive experience, Lumina put together a beautiful 7 minute video that was shown at our evening dinner reception that just blew everyone away with laughter and tears. They were so efficient that they even included same-day scenes from our earlier afternoon wedding ceremony (e.g. vows) and the cocktail reception just before dinner. A couple of days before the wedding day, we started the filming of outdoor scenes in minus 8 degree Celsius weather. Despite our complaining about the sub-zero temperatures and virtual frost-bite, Krista & Jared made that scene on the video look like we were thoroughly enjoying ourselves as if we were at a summer beach party.

However, the most affecting and important part of the video was the storytelling of our emotional journey together as a couple, told through Krista's and Jared's interviews with us as the couple and close family members, and captured and edited so honestly that would make even the most jaded person ball their eyes out and believe in true love!

I worked with Krista and Lumina from summer 2020 until September 2022, when Matthew and I had our wedding. From the very beginning, Krista was extremely responsive, and was always eager to meet and answer any initial questions I had. Not only did she guide me on our photography/videography journey, but she went above and beyond by helping me when I had any other general wedding related questions, or needed vendor recommendations. What can I say about Lumina? Initially, I wasn't sure I wanted videography, but after my lovely wedding planner Hasti mentioned that it's a nice thing to look back on, we went for it. That's when she suggested Lumina. From our first email correspondence to receiving our video today, we’ve gotten nothing but thoughtful, professional, and personalized service from the Lumina team. On the day of our wedding, three Lumina team members guided us through every shot (which, being an awkward pair, was much needed) and stuck with us for the entire day. I will admit that there were some shots I wasn’t sure would work; I was very, very wrong. Lumina really, truly knows what they’re doing, and they do it so well. The video we received today is the perfect recap of the best day of our lives. It captured so many candid moments that were fleeting on our wedding day—now immortalized—and they somehow managed to imprint the overall feel of the day into the video. Now, we get to relive it again and again (and again and again and again).

Leading up to the wedding, Krista made us feel at ease and was always there for us.

On our wedding day, Jared and the team were fun to work with and easygoing which put us at ease as well. We were so comfortable around the crew that we forgot that we were being filmed at times. Jared and the team are also extremely hardworking as they were running around to ensure that all of the shots were taken!

They captured our day beautifully and ensured that we were super happy with the videos. I think there is only one word that can describe Lumina's team and that is that they are "AMAZING". The whole team is very professional and truly cares about their clients. They went over and beyond their normal duties to ensure that we are happy with our photos and videos. Krista is very professional, kind and easy to talk to and is always ready to give you advice when you need it. Winona, Jared, Kas and Celine are also amazing and we were so happy to have them with us on our wedding day. Our makeup artist finished much later than the promised time, but the team was able to still take amazing pictures and videos of us in a very short period of time that we had left. We were lucky to have them with us that day. Also, the editing of their pictures are very realistic and natural. Likewise, the editing of their video (highlight video) is out of this world. We recommend Lumina 100%, look no further. It would be the most enjoyable experience during your wedding.

Lumina is an amazing team! I worked very closely with Krista and Jared, and they are both phenomenal - as well as the rest of the team. We planned our wedding before the pandemic, and of course because of that we had to reschedule the event 3 times. Every single time, the team was so gracious with the changes and kept rolling with the event changing from formal, to not formal at all, to only having 10 people at the wedding...to finally having our wedding when the restrictions had eased up. Krista had several meetings with us and helped us to figure out a timeline, the details and everything. She helped me create the timeline for the wedding based on what I wanted the final product to look like. On the day of - the team was very professional, calm and kind. They arrived right on time, they were very organized, and they kept us calm when we were running behind schedule - they just worked their magic and worked things out so we would arrive right on time to the venue. They were also amazing with my parents - especially being from another culture - they were so respectful of everyone and made everyone feel so comfortable. Finally, our final photos and videos are AMAZING! Amazing shots and edits - I even gave this team non-western music to put on the video edits and they nailed it perfectly.

Having Lumina as our wedding videographer last June was absolutely a pleasure! We originally did not opt for video in the beginning but are definitely glad we changed our minds after seeing the same-day-edit and feature film Lumina produced for us. Choosing the right videographer for our wedding was not easy because there are so many options. We viewed a number of videos from various videographers and created a short list. We chose Lumina because from the first meeting, Krista was so professional and truly cared about the kind of film we wanted for our wedding film. Krista gave us the room to make our decision. We are so so glad that we chose the Lumina team. Before the wedding, Krista and the ever talented Jared took the time to communicate with us about music, and what mattered for us on our film. I can’t begin to thank Lumina Weddings and Events for capturing our elopement ceremony incredibly which was the most important thing to us since we had no guests attend our wedding. I still can’t get over how much fun we had with them and at how well the day went. They have the most amazing team.

Working with Krista was one of the best experiences I’ve had. The whole wedding planning process was so easy. She was always responsive, thorough and helpful.  Anytime I had an idea, I would text her and she quickly responded and made sure it was incorporated on the day. On the day of our ceremony, she helped with coordinating to make sure the day went smoothly. Their videographer and photographer - just amazing! The videographer was able to take such great videos that highlighted everything we wanted to be in the video. The photographer was so helpful with telling us what to do and how to pose to get the amazing shots. Then the editor was able to put together a perfectly told story for the video. They literally brought our vision to life. Their team was so caring and friendly. Krista and the team would help with holding anything we needed to get the perfect shots. Krista also held my train, without me asking, so that my dress wouldn’t get dirty! They were all so super sweet! We didn’t even feel like we were shooting a video and taking photos. Both my husband and I have done photoshoots before and it felt like work, but we had SO much fun with the team.

Everyone we shared the video with was in awe. Everyone we shared the teaser photos were obsessed. I am SO happy I went with them for our special day. They exceeded my expectations. I would 1000 percent recommend them and use them again for any more special events we have in the future!

Sweetest team you'll meet!

We decided to hire a videographer about a week before the wedding after advice from our friends and family that photos may not provide a good sense of feeling of the day. I wasn't sure that I needed it or I would watch it but I can say I received the final video about a month ago and still watch it regularly!

The team was discrete day of and worked in the background without us and our family really even noticing...which is a big deal, trust me! The Lumina team is so nice to work with and we are so thrilled with the whole process.

Lumina truly went above and beyond during the months our wedding was delayed.

Like so many engaged couples, COVID-19 threw our wedding plans into disarray. Through the entire process (and especially after our wedding was delayed) Lumina was an absolute pleasure to work with. Expect easygoing interactions with incredibly polished results.

I'm very camera shy. I'm not comfortable having my picture taken, let alone having a videographer follow me around. Going in to the wedding planning process, I expected that the most difficult aspect would be dealing with the photography/videography. I dreaded it, to be honest. From the first meeting through the final edits, Lumina we're willing to work around my concerns. Their team made it clear that their priority was to make sure I enjoyed our wedding first and foremost. Having seen the end results, I honestly don't know how they managed to capture everything they did because they seemed invisible on the day. That being said, Lumina truly went above and beyond during the months our wedding was delayed. Their connections in Vancouver's wedding industry proved invaluable while we were rescheduling with our various vendors. If your event needs photos/video, stop your search now. 10/10

At our consultation meeting Jared and Krista were so organized, detail oriented and eager to hear about the vision, style and vibe of our wedding video. What an amazing team!!! We had the opportunity and pleasure of working with Lumina for our elopement and could not be happier! From the moment we booked Lumina, Krista was responsive, detailed and excited to be a part of our day. Lumina gave us lots of options on music choice and helped us with an outline of how our final video could look before it was even the elopement day. Their ability to tell a story, mix in music and get the incredible shots for our wedding were great. I can only imagine if we had the opportunity to have a full wedding what exciting shots they would have got! While they were really visible when we arrived it was crazy to see their stealth like skills and not even notice them filming us during the ceremony. I say that in the best possible way. Especially after seeing the final video and all the shots they got where we didn't even see them. Krista and her team were friendly on the day of the wedding not only to us but our guests and most of all really really helped 'direct' us for the best shots.
